Located in the vibrant heart of Los Angeles on Beverly Boulevard, Swingers Diner offers an irresistible journey through classic American cuisine with a modern, inclusive twist. Specializing in breakfast and brunch favorites, this retro-inspired American restaurant is beloved not only for its nostalgic atmosphere but also for an eclectic menu that caters wonderfully to omnivores, vegetarians, and vegans alike.
Upon stepping inside, you’re instantly transported to a bygone era of checkerboard floors, jukebox charm, and vintage booths that hum with the energy of a city that truly never sleeps. Whether you’re settling in for an early morning meal or a late-night bite, the vibe is lively yet comfortably familiar—a perfect backdrop for enjoying thoughtfully prepared dishes.
The menu at Swingers Diner is a celebration of bold flavors and comforting classics. Start with their iconic Breakfast Burrito, a hearty blend that promises a satisfying kick to your day. For something sweeter, the Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes and buttery Brioche French Toast evoke a luscious, melt-in-your-mouth delight. Coffee lovers won’t be disappointed either, with expertly crafted Latte and Cappuccino options that perfectly complement the food.
Vegetarian and vegan diners are treated with equal care, thanks to dishes like the vibrant Vegan Nachos and nourishing AHI Tuna Salad or the plant-based Cobb Chop Salad that delight with fresh, crisp organic greens and house-made dressings. Fans of classic comfort food can indulge in the rich, cheesy goodness of the Mac and Cheese or savor a well-balanced plate like the Jerk Chicken with perfectly seasoned plantains, as highlighted by a recent customer who appreciated the generous lemon wedge and thoughtful preparation.
No diner experience would be complete without hand-spun Milkshakes or decadent desserts, and Swingers Diner excels with its Apple Pie, an assortment of flavorful Cupcakes, homemade cookies, and vegan rice crispy treats. The sweet endings here perfectly mirror the warm, inviting spirit that Swingers exudes.
Real customers celebrate the unique mix of stellar service and the diner’s charm. One patron nostalgically referred to Swingers as “a slice of LA history with a side of sass,” praising the unbeatable fries and the late-night ambiance where indie bands and studio execs once mingled. Another highlighted the “cute retro vibe” and the photo booth that adds a playful layer to dining out, making it a place both vegans and non-vegans can enjoy together.
Whether you’re dropping in for a hearty breakfast, a casual brunch, or a comforting late-night meal, Swingers Diner captures the essence of LA’s eclectic food scene with authenticity and heart. It’s a place to savor good food, soak up great vibes, and create memorable experiences—minus the spontaneous car fires (a rare and one-off spectacle, as a customer humorously recalls).
For those seeking a reliable spot to enjoy all-day breakfast classics while basking in a warm, retro ambiance that makes every visit feel like a welcome trip back in time, Swingers Diner on Beverly Blvd is the quintessential destination.
Service was great! Loved the peach cobbler! We also had dinner and a show because a car across the street caught on fire quite an experience! Don't expect any car fires when you go here though, it was one night only!
Such a cute retro vibe in here, complete with a photo booth! Loved their cappuccino and vegan Cobb salad. Service was great too. Highly recommend for vegans and non vegans looking for a brunch place since they serve break da set and lunch all day
Swingers in Hollywood isn’t just a diner—it’s a slice of LA history with a side of sass and really good fries. This place has been serving up late-night eats and early-morning recoveries since the days when indie bands and studio execs shared booths. It’s got that lived-in cool without ever trying too hard: checkerboard floors, jukebox charm, and the low hum of a city that never quite sleeps. The food? Way above the curve for diner fare. Think golden pancakes with just the right chew, fresh arugula tucked into a breakfast burrito, wild-caught tuna melts that taste like someone in the kitchen actually cares. Whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, or just hungover and looking for comfort, they’ve got something legit—and made with better ingredients than you’d expect at 2am on Sunset. What really pulls it all together is the staff. Engaged, sharp, always game for a little banter if you are, or just genuinely attentive if you’re flying solo. They know their regulars, but they’re just as warm to first-timers. Swingers is the kind of place that keeps its edge without losing its heart. A diner that feels like home—if your home had really good huevos rancheros and cooler people hanging around.
The cherry Coke is amazing. I love the vibe of this place and the food is delicious. Best place in the area for a late night meal. They have something for everyone here.
I would say the nostalgia, great service, and ambiance are the main reasons to go here. Food can be a bit hit or miss. Jerk Chicken was solid-- chicken was a little salty, but overall good! Well rounded plate, loved the plantains. They gave a hefty lemon wedge which is always appreciated ;-)
I was staying at the Beverly Laurel next door for a few days for a wedding weekend and the breakfasts here did so much to keep my strength during those long long days of wedding activities. The coffee was strong, the portions were generous and as an American who doesn't live in the states anymore, it was a treat and a half to have good bacon again. Crispy and delicious. I loved the All-American because you got a bit of everything. eggs, bacon, a bit of french toast or a pancake. I can tell you that they do great salads, a solid BLT, mighty find waffles, and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Some of the nicest folks. God I miss a good diner.
F un diner with jukebox, nice employees and good food. They have lots to look at ( the funny saying behind the counter, the bar stool with Drew Carey’s name, variety of tshirts). The food was really good. Although it is mostly diner food, none of it was greasy. My only complaint is the lack of parking.
